The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division is seeking the public’s assistance in
identifying the suspect(s) who killed James R. Ryan
On August 13, 2006, at approximately 3:00 p.m., James R. Ryan was found by his stepson lying on
the kitchen floor at his residence located at 11902 Campos - Northwest Harris County. The
stepson - Mr. Zornes, believed that Mr. Ryan had a heart attack, and called 911.
An HCSO Deputy and EMT personnel arrived on the scene and transported Mr. Ryan to a local
hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The HCSO Homicide Division was contacted on August
18, 2006 by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. It was found during the autopsy of
James Ryan that he suffered a severe head injury that was not consistent with a fall. HCSO
Homicide detectives conducted a follow up investigation and found evidence of an assault.
