Crime Stoppers and Harris County homicide investigators are asking the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for the murder of 33-year-old Mark Korenek.
Mr. Korenek had been shopping in the Wal-Mart at 1313 Fry Road in Katy on the night of June 3, 2005, and was on his way to his vehicle around 11:55 p.m. when an unknown male jumped from a nearby van and approached him. Witnesses heard a gunshot and saw the suspect get back in the van, which then left the parking lot and on to Fry Road. Mr. Korenek was life-flighted to Hermann Hospital, where he died at 12:45 a.m., June 4, 2005.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and charging of any suspect(s) in this case. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477). All callers remain anonymous.
