HOUSTON - Detectives say they still have no leads in the murder of a recent Cy-Fair ISD graduate whose body was discovered inside her bedroom closet more than three months ago.

Eighteen-year-old Trang Van, who's also known as Michelle Van or MiMi, had just graduated from Cypress Ridge High School and dreamed of becoming a school teacher.

Her family had said she was about to start summer classes at the University of Houston, but on July 2, someone cut those dreams short.

Van’s father arrived before 9 p.m. to the house at the 10100 block of Lazy Lagoon and found his youngest child's body on the floor of her bedroom closet seven hours after she missed an appointment to see her sister.

Homicide detectives later classified her death a homicide, stating she was killed several hours before she her body was discovered.

Anyone with information regarding Van's murder is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-847

Seriously? Nothing at all? Did anyone even contact you from the police?

Did you try crime stoppers?

What is wrong with these police.  They need to do something now. Before someone else is killed, if it hasn't already happened.

I feel it is time to speak out about LBEXPRESS6's post, here and elsewhere, regarding the murder of TRANG VAN.

When a person posts comments in this or any forum in houstonunsolved, that person agrees to certain terms of service, specifically:

"You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. "

It is truly sad that TRANG VAN's life has been taken from this world and the murderer has not been found.  It is also truly sad that people are sometimes wrongly accused.  Just because LBEXPRESS6 has expressed certain things as facts, doesn't mean it is so.  People need to keep an open mind.  If JPAYNE9207 was a murderer and the evidence was posted on MYSPACE, don't you think that this person would have been charged already?

Police confiscated TRANG's computer and other personal items in 2009.  If there was any communication between JPAYNE9207 and TRANG, don't you think that the police would have discovered that through computer forensic testing?   Obviously, if foresenic testing was done with TRANGS computer, cell phone records, etc., JPAYNE would have been arrested and charged long ago, if he were gulty.

If, after the investigation conducted by federal and local police authorities, it is concluded that the posts in this forum were false, the motives of the person making such an allegation should be investigated.

IN THE UNITED STATES, PEOPLE ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.  I hope that people reading this post will remember that and realize that sometimes people are wrongly accused and it is so important not to rush to judgment.

I would like to know why (suddenly) the post of LBEXPRESS6 is missing.  Did Houston Unsolved take it down and why if they did?  Or did the person who wrote this post request it to be taken down?

Recently, there was a case decided in the state of Texas whereby a jury found a couple were defamed by an anonymous poster and were awarded millions of dollars.  Did this case decision cause the post by LBEXPRESS6 to be taken down?

Regardless, this same anonymous poster has already done the damage "she" set out to do and it was quite easy to figure out who LBEXPRESS6 really is and what may have motivated this person to post such a horrible statement.

I can only hope that "she" and her accomplises are being investigated by Texas law enforcement.  The sooner, the better!  In the meantime, someone is sitting in jail because of the accusations made by this person against him.  If her post were truthful, then why would it be taken down?  Especially in a murder case!  It is time for the media to start investigating her and all of her posts on the internet!  There are many and under many names!  All out to attack her ex-husband or to get others to do the job for her.

Researcher,
cases take time to develop into a situation where charges can stick. the authorities only have one chance to try and convict a person for a murder. i believe that the post mentioned was removed for a very good reason.

http://www.khou.com/news/local/HCSO--Man-already-jailed-for-sex-assault-child-porn-linked-to-teens-cold-case-murder-176025611.html

HOUSTON—A man already serving time for 10 counts of child pornography and sex assault has been linked to a teen’s brutal murder three years ago, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division.

Joseph Michael Payne, 32, has been charged with capital murder in the stabbing death of 18-year-old Trang Michelle Van.

Van was found dead in her home in the 10100 block of Lazy Lagoon on July 2, 2009.

Van’s family became concerned after she missed a planned meeting with a relative. After the relative called several times and could not reach her, family members went to find out what was wrong. That is when Van’s father found her body inside a closet in the house.

Investigators searched for answers and Crime Stoppers offered a hefty reward, but the case went cold.

Investigators said Payne, who had been in jail since February 2012, began to leak information to other inmates. They were also able to link him to Van’s death through an IP address on a computer.

Van had just graduated from high school and had hopes of becoming a teacher before her life was cut short.

POLICE AND DETECTIVES ON THIS CASE:  Please take note:  LBEXPRESS6 HAD ACCESS TO JOSEPH PAYNE'S HARD DRIVE!  THERE IS EVIDENCE AND ADMISSION OF THIS ON A PUBLIC WEBSITE!  IS ANYONE INVESTIGATING THIS?
