From 1972

A 38 year old Owensburg, Ky man, a former Princeton resident, was found dead last Sunday in Houston, TX,. as the result of three gunshot wounds, officials said.

Police in Houston said John Michael Crewey was found by a railroad workman in Houston on Feb. 5 after being shot once in the chest and twice in the right hand with a .22 caliber revolver.

Police said no identification was found on the body at the time and the victim's wallet and ring were missing.  Authorities said robbery has been established as the motive for the shooting.

Houston City Police say their investigation of the incident is continuing.

Crewey, a sheet metal worker, was born in Freeman, a son of the late George and Mattie Burgess Crewey. He was a vetern of WWII.

I believe there may be an error in either his stated age, or that he fought in WWII.  If he was 38 in 1972, his year of birth would have been around 1934, thus making him too young to have participated in that war.

I pray for comfort for his loved ones and that this case is solved.
