This is not just an unsolved murder case. It's what happened AFTER the murder with the DA, suspects and police.


Hank Alan Johnson (spunky) was brutally attacked at the Executive Inn #125 in Hearne Texas on July 10th about 10:00 to midnight.

They used a baseball bat and he had 3 cracks in his skull and a fatal brake in his nose. They covered him with an ab lounger and left the door open. He also had a massive heart attack and his heart stopped for 10 minutes before they got him back. 

They stole his 2 black electric guitars a BC Rich and a Metal Man bass guitar. the guitars were sold 5 times for $50.00 each time and ended up in Bryan Texas where the police picked it up.

He was in St Joseph Hospital for 11 days in a coma before he died July 21 08. He was 27 and had a 4 year old daughter and 11 year old autistic son. 

He was there working for Fiberglass specialist for a Oak Grove power plant in a near by town. There was a Kountry Kitchen Cafe in front of the hotel. He went to the Dairy Queen that night for a hamburger and did his laundry laid out on the bed. He went into the room and never talked again.

• Sergeant Steve Stokley, a former detective with the Hearne Police Department ID's Billy Blackburn as a suspect.
• Billy Blackburn is the brother in law of District Attorney John Paschall
• Paschall met privately with Blackburn who gave the name of another suspects
• The suspects, Nelson and Martinez admitted they were at the scene the night Johnson was attacked, not involved.
• A report shows Nelson and Martinez's statements didn't add up.
• Both appeared to have been attacked themselves, in similar fashion as Hank Johnson.
• District Attorney John Paschall was doing interviews behind the back of the investigator, and threatened the investigator when confronted.
• The former police chief provided a piece of paper that suggested 3 men (not ID's) worked for District Attorney John Paschall as hitmen, and that for safety reasons, should back off.
• two guitars that were stolen from Hank Johnson's motel room the night of his murder were traced to Trae Thompson. Nothing was done to pursue him as a suspect and the guitars were not sent to a crime lab.
• District Attorney John Paschall says they could not be processed because the investigator used his own money to buy them.
• All the files from the investigator disappeared in fall 2010, and he was demoted and eventually quit.
• Hank Johnson’s fingernails were sent to the Texas Crime Lab last year after the mother begged for someone to test them.

    My  only son Hank Alan Johnson was murdered in Hearne Texas. He was brutally  attacked in room #125 at the Executive Inn. This is where they put my son up as  he worked for Fiberglass Speicalist at the Oak Grove Power Plant in  Franklin to earn money for his children in Pasadena where he lived. Today  he would have been 30 years old on March 26th 1981. He laid in a coma in Bryan  Texas for 12 days and died July 21 2008.

I  didn't know anything about Hearne or John Paschall then. I didn't know that  they made a movie about him and the town of Hearne that came out that year. But  I knew something was wrong.

They  did not take the blood from under his fingernails. I told the DA's  office while still in the crime lab. I buried him a few days later and  they did not take the nails. 20 months later the Texas Rangers  exhumed his body. They sent it to the lab in Austin. Where it has been for over  a year now since March 24th 2010. The new DA Bill Turners det Swatz has  admitted the Texas Rangers lost his DNA and fingerprints.

Also  he admitted that Trey Thompson stole Hank's guitars and did 6 days in jail with  15 days credit. He also went to the Grand Jury for the Murder of Hank Johnson  but was not indicted with not enough evidence and before Hank  was exhumed.Also Steve Stokley went there and when he got out recanted his  story. Until recently when the proof surfaced on a audio tape. He also laughs  about needing a good hit man.

. They  did not tell me of any of this.Texas Ranger Huggins and FBI agent Norman  Townsend are known as the locals say John Paschall's friends. Including Judges  and Mayors. He has been in office for 20 years.

There  was another double murder in Hearne three months later. One of the cooks that  worked at the Country Kitchen a few feet from Hanks room at the Executive Inn.  His murder trial is also botched and on KBTX they go into detail about the  double murder and two eye witnesses were also murdered. The stories are still  online. We need help. Every since the show came out I got a letter from the  DA's office that they will not talk to me. It has also been told that Bill  Turner and John Paschall is also friends. NO ARRESTS. NO RESULTS ON LAB.

 :-\The Robertson County have not arrested anyone in the murder of Hank Johnson in 9 months. Ester Martinez was said to of lied to the Grand Jury about her brother Ralph Martinez who admitted being hit by his girlfriend Patricia Nelson of Hearne (who worked as a waitress at the Kountry Kitchen Cafe) by a small baseball bat. She lied about her brother having two knots on his head she said happened saturday. Her daughter spoke up and said "No mama remember Ralph had the knots on his head early Friday Morning." Hanks attack happened late Thursday Night.

Hank was my cousin. I want to know why Ralph Martinez has not been charged with murder yet? He was apparently given a polygraph test and failed it. I really don't understand! There is so much evidence against him and it says so right there in the police report. Yes he's in jail right now, but he hasn't been charged with the murder. No one should have to watch a family member die like that! He was only 27 years old. He was in the CCU for about 11 days. There was so much damage to his brain that there was no way for him to recover. Finally he was pronounced brain dead. Hank was failed by many people from the very start. There's the one who killed him and the people who were his accomplices. There was the motel that didn't have their security cameras working. There's the paramedics that took an hour and a half to get him to the hospital which was only 24 minutes away. Then there was the life flight helicopter that wouldn't take him because they said, "We're not equiped for heart attacks." It was just one failure after another and our sweet Hank didn't have a chance. I read all these posts about these unsolved murders and it just hurts to think of how many people out there have lost someone so special to them in such a terrible way that have not seen justice served yet. I pray everyday that doesn't happen with Hank's case. He was murdered over 9 months ago and my family wants his killer to pay for what they've done. We know it won't bring him back, but we won't allow the killer to get away with it. I hope that seeing justice served brings some amount of closure to those of us left behind to grieve over this kind of loss.

hank alan johnson's body will be exumed from the ground as the DA in Franklin messed up the case. They have several warrants for the fugitives on the run in the dallas area. His blood under his fingernails are the physical evidence that they need to collect for the case. It was not done in the hospital and not even in the forensic homicide autopsy..  Da says he doesn't know why.  So far no arrests have been made. He is at the lawndale cemetary in Houston Texas.

I read this website for information on a friend of my daughter who was murdered back in 2004. Amanda Fleetwood. I'm so thankful that my daughter wasn't involved in anyway or it might have been her too. I contacted the detectives on the case and they assured me that the boy(friend) involved who survived was "singing like a canary" and they would have all the information they needed to convict the killer. I don't know if the crime was ever solved. I don't think so. I think the boyfriend left the state soon afterwards.

What I do think is that everyone who dies needs to have DNA taken so that if they were ever involved in a crime where DNA was available, it would be a lead for a case that's not yet solved. I'm sure many criminals have gone to their maker without ever having been found out.  According to TV, DNA is able to be matched through a computer program which I guess the police have. I don't know the cost involved, but it could be incorporated in the cost of burial. I think my idea would be a huge boost to cases that go cold. I think the matching is nationwide so that's a good thing. With evidence under a victim's fingernails...it seems to me that the crime is just waiting to be matched to someone's DNA. 

These cases make me so sad and mad. We have come so far in science, let's try to go a little bit further.


I am so very sorry for the loss of your loved one. Young and obviously talented and much loved. Such a horrible, senseless crime.
You wonder how people live with themselves after they do such a horrible thing.
Maybe one day, even with a traffic stop...DNA testing will be routine and extremely simplified. Hopefully life for the criminal will become more difficult for them to  hide.

I hope the exumed body of Hank Alan Johnson yielded the evidence you need.

My heart goes out to Hank's family and friends. It was a needless loss of life. I do hope that DNA is found on Hank to help convict this case. One thing we have to keep in mind is that the police will wait this out until they have overwhelming evidence so that the case is tried and he doesn't go free. They want to take it to the DA and file charges when they feel confident in a conviction. You can't go back and retry a case because of double jeopardy.

I have filed a lawsuit on th 9th of July 2010 on the eve of my son's death date. He died twice at the scene at the helicopter PHI air. His heart stopped for 30 minutes. They did not have the equiptment to help him with a heart attack and could not life flight him. By ambulance in a coma he last 11 days in the hospital and was pronounced brain dead again July 21. My granddaughters birthday.  It took 2 and a 1/2 hours to get him to a hospital 27 minutes away. The EMS laughed at him for vomiting and swolling it. it took all 11 days to pump it out of his stomach. He was 27 with two small kids 4yr little girl and 10 yr old little boy at the time of his death. I have posted you tube spunky6180 on him with our puppet show. I filed a lawsuit for the motel,Executive Inn, Robertson County EMS,PHI air, the murderers first of all the brother in law of the District Attorney John Paschall Billy Blackburn, Ralph Martinez, Ester Martinez (fugitive), Patricia Nelson, Trae Thompson in the (Connelly Unit for assulting an officer),Fredel Miles.

I have lived in Hearne all of my life.. I even worked at the Executive Inn hotel while Hank was there and even spoke to him a few times... He was one of the good guys... He never once disrespected me or anything... Everytime he saw you he would speak no matter where you were.... I hate the fact that this town has done nothing to the ones who have done this.... There isnt a day that I dont think about his case... I was suppose to work that night he was murdered but I had called in.. There are times that I think what if I was there could i have done something to have made a difference for him to make it.... The hotel and the owners at the time are a joke...  If the security cameras had been working maybe Ms Johnson could have what she needs to bring Hanks murderers down... Ms. Johnson I stand behind you 1000% and i hope you win for your family but mostly importantly for Hank.....

John Paschall is holding the results of Hanks DNA from exhumation March 24,2010. although i talked to the lab and they said it was finished and closed out may 25, 2010. paschall says not. says they haven't finished. then threatened to file charges on me if i call the lab again. what up? cover up? This case is so sad.  It's doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that somebody somewhere knows someone higher up and they are sitting on this.  I read the Houston Press article on this last year I believe.
Have you contacted the FBI about the problems you are having? They have the authority to get involved due to the circumstances.

I am so sorry for the loss of your son.  I still remember the pics of him from the article and he looked like a sweet guy.
