Incident No 10343503y Dominica Danielle Johnson

My daughter was murdered in July 2003; Incident No 10343503y. She was last seen leaving the Carrington's Sport Bar at 9585 S. Main on the night of July 21, 2003.  She was on a motorcycle with a white male by the name of Eric W. Rhymer. On August 6, 2003 in the 10800 block of West Brae Parkway, Dominica's decomposed body was found fully clothed in a field next to a green telephone box by a HFD Fireman who had just mowed this field the month before on July 7, 2003.  Needless to say, no evidence was recovered at the scene because after discovering the body of my daughter and calling 911 the HFD Fireman got back on his tractor and finish cutting the entire field while an HPD Officer was at the scene waiting for HPD Homicide Investigator's arrive. The person that the officers brought in to question on April 22, 2004 was Eric W. Rhymer; the last person to be seen with Dominica. After Rhymer was brought in for questioning investigator's ask him if he knew Dominica and he said "no".  They then showed him a picture of her and he said he had never seen her before.  He was then asked to take a polygraph test which he refused.  Rhymer finally admitted to knowing Dominica and claims that on the night they left the bar, Dominica wanted to learn how to drive a motorcycle so he stopped the bike put it in neutral and got off and pushed the bike from behind to let her go through the motions of shifting gears. After she felt comfortable he did not get back on the bike. He said that as she drove off he ran alone side the bike. That's when something went wrong and the bike took off.  He couldn't catch up with the bike and the bike hit a curb and flew in the air with Dominica on it.  By the time he got over to her, she look to be dead so he picked up his bike and moved it back to the road.  He then walked back over to her, sat down, shook her and talked to her, then got up, walked away and never looked back.  2 or 3 days later, he returned with 3 or 4 guys in a pickup truck, loaded up the bike and drove away; knowing my daughter was still in that field. He was charged with a class A misdemeanor and was given to 270 days time served. The cause of her death was undermined by the medical examiners.

That is a pretty pathetic story given by the last guy who saw her. I hope the police taked to those 4 guys. Was a cowardly man.

I guess I'm living under the impression that one is required to render aid to anyone you know that needs it. I thought that was a law. I read that your daughter and the Eric W. Rhymer left the bar to go ride a motorcycle. When she became injured, do I understand that he just left her in the field, claiming that he had talked to her? What did she say? Surely with her dying she couldn't have made sense if in fact she was talking to him. His story doesn't fit together.  How was she to get back to the  bar or home, he did take her away from the bar shouldn't he have at the least returned her to the bar? Or was she deceased by that time? How did Eric W. Rhymer, a sorry excuse of a human being, not get charged with that or is that what a class A misdemeanor is? Have you ever spoken to him face to face? God help you, these situations are every Mother's nightmare. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm even sorrier that Eric W. Rhymer was not forced to take a lie detector test.  Accidents happen, but somehow I don't think this was purely an accident. There was too much covering up by Eric W. Rhymer.

I agree. I just hope the police can find a way to get the evidence needed to get a conviction.
