Officer Sander was shot and killed by an unknown suspect after stopping him for a traffic infraction. The suspect shot Officer Sander before he was able to get off his motorcycle. Officer Sander was able to return fire but the suspect escaped.

Officer Sander had served with the agency for 3 years. He survived by his wife and daughter.
