Santiago Lopez - 1000 block of S. Mason Rd - February 13, 2007

On February 13, 2007, at approximately 7:47 p.m., 37-year-old Santiago Chavelas Lopez was attempting to cross the roadway
in the 1000 block of South Mason Road in West Harris County when he was struck and killed by the driver of a white Ford pickup truck.

Witnesses said the truck’s driver did not stop to render any assistance to Mr. Lopez, but instead sped away southbound on South
Mason Road. Mr. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators recovered a front headlight from the truck, and white paint from the truck was found on Mr. Lopez’ clothing.
