Police have said that they believe it's possible the suspect in the Jonathon Foster, 12, 12/2010 abduction & murder, Mona Nelson, is a serial killer and are looking for other crimes that she might have committed. In a Houston Chronicle article, posted her timeline info and part of it was "Nelson said she'd been living in Cookville in East Texas since January 1985, in a house owned by her father-in-law, Clyde Nelson, a sex offender who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in August 1985. A probation officer who visited the home in September 1985 reported the home was clean and Nelson's children appeared well cared-for."
The Mayfield children were abducted not far from the area the Foster crime took place in January 1985.
Mona Nelson also already had an arrest record for a violent crime in 1985 and resided with a pedophile.
